DESCRIPTION:

VIEW A – Horizontal Stripe Shade and Valance are fully lined. Our photographed shade features a horizontal stripe fabric; instructions also include how-to for adapting a vertical stripe fabric. The bottom edge of the shade is pulled up and secured with a fabric tab and decorative tassel. The 6" (15cm) deep straight valance is formed from the same face fabric placed vertically. The back of the shade features rows of plastic rings threaded with Roman shade cording, enabling the treatment to be raised and lowered. Your fabric width determines the width of the shade you can make as there is no seaming – see Fabric Requirement Chart for size range. Shade and Valance are easily stapled to a 1" × 3" (2.5cm × 7.5cm) pine mounting board.

VIEW B – Rolled Shade and Valance rolls up to highlight contrast lining which also forms a band effect along both sides of the shade. Contrast ties hold the treatment in place. The 6" (15cm) deep straight valance is made entirely from contrast fabric. Your fabric width determines the width of the shade you can make as there is no seaming – see Fabric Requirement Chart for size range. The shade length is approximately 24" (60cm) when shade is rolled and tied; length can be adjusted by shortening ties. Shade and Valance are easily stapled to a 1" × 3" (2.5cm × 7.5cm) pine mounting board.

VIEW C – Cloud Valance is fully lined and features four rows of plastic rings stitched to the valance back and threaded with Roman shade cording. The cording pulls the valance up to form the billowy bottom edge. The finished depth of the valance can be adjusted from 20" to 30" (50-75cm). The valance can be mounted inside the window frame on a tension rod or outside the window frame on a 1" (2.5cm) curtain rod. This treatment can be made for window widths 28-50" (70-125cm).

VIEW D – Suede Band Valance is fully lined and can be made in the following pre-determined valance sizes – 33" (82.5cm), 44" (110cm), 55" (137.5cm), 66" (165cm), 77" (192.5cm), 88" (220cm), and 99" (247.5cm). The valance features angled sides with straight box sections across the treatment that increase by one for each valance size starting with one for the 33"(82.5cm) valance size, 2 for the 44"(110cm) valance size, etc. The suede band along the bottom edge is fused to the valance; easy how-to instructions are included. Self cover buttons highlight each pleat. The center depth of the valance is 18" (45cm) and the side length is 24" (60cm). This valance is easily stapled to a 1" × 3" (2.5cm × 7.5cm) pine mounting board.

SUGGESTED FABRICS:

ALL VIEWS: Decorator fabrics such as cottons, linens, cotton/polyester blends. Silk-like polyester fabrics can also be used. NOTE: Pure silk is not recommended since silk fabrics are prone to sun damage and require interlining. Interlining instructions are not included in this pattern.

VIEW A: A horizontal stripe fabric is recommended, however, a vertical stripe fabric can be substituted (instructions included).

VIEW D: Synthetic suede fabric for band and buttons. The cut edges of the suede band serve as finished edges.

SUGGESTED LINING:

VIEW A Shade, C or D: Select a white or off-white drapery lining fabric. Sun resistant or water resistant linings are recommended.

VIEW B Shade: We suggest selecting a solid contrast fabric as prints or stripes may show through the front of the valance in sunny windows.

VIEW A or B Valance: Valance is self-lined in Face fabric.

PURCHASE LINING SAME WIDTH AS FACE FABRIC, IF AVAILABLE.
