DESCRIPTION

VIEW A - Bottom Up Shade* with Valance features a lined roman style shade that can be positioned at any height on the window. The self lined valance features kick pleats at each end and is 6" (15cm) deep. NOTE: The valance is necessary since it hides the hardware the shade hangs from. The valance is easily stapled to a 1" × 2" (2.5cm × 5cm) board and can be made for window widths 28–60" (70–150cm).

VIEW B - Bottom Up Shade* with 1 Hour Swag Valance features a lined roman style shade that can be positioned at any height on the window. The swag valance with side flaps is lined in drapery lining and highlighted with decorative bead trim. An additional gimp braid trim was also applied to hide the bead trim lip. The finished depth at the center of the swag is 17" (42.5cm). NOTE: The swag valance is necessary since it hides the hardware the shade hangs from. The valance is easily stapled to a 1" × 2" (2.5cm × 5cm) board and can be made for window widths 28–46" (70–115cm).

*Shades - The shade features two sets of cords. One set is threaded through rows of plastic rings stitched to the back of the shade, which lifts the bottom edge of the shade like a traditional roman shade. A second set of cords is attached to the top edge of the shade where a wood slat is inserted, allowing the top of the shade to be lifted or lowered. The two sets of cords are threaded through separate sets of screw eyes secured into the mounting board, enabling shade to be positioned at any height on the window. A metal bar is inserted in a bottom pocket to add weight to the shade when lifting. Your fabric width determines the width shade you can make as there is no seaming - see Fabric Requirement Chart for size range.

VIEW C - 1 Hour Trumpet Topper features an arched shaped topper lined in drapery lining. Two contrast lined trumpets, “cinched” together with contrast covered buttons, are tacked to the front of the topper. Decorative trim highlights the bottom edges of the topper and trumpets. The finished depth at the center of the topper is 15" (37.5cm) and the side length is 21" (52.5cm). The topper is easily stapled to a 1" × 3" (2.5 × 7.5cm) board. This treatment can be made for window widths 28–52" (70–130cm).

VIEW D - Jiffy Pole Swag is a self lined piece of fabric with angled ends. Decorative fringe trim highlights the bottom and side edges. The swag is attached to a decorative pole with narrow ties. The finished depth from the top of pole to bottom of the swag is 14" to 16" (25–40cm) and you can choose a side length from 30" to 36" (75 to 90cm). This treatment can be made for window widths 28–46" (70–115cm).

SUGGESTED FABRICS:

ALL VIEWS*: Mid-weight decorator fabrics such as cottons, linens and cotton blends, jacquards, pique or other similar weaves work well. Lightweight blend fabrics can also be used. Silk-like polyester blends are also recommended. Pure silk needs to be lined with drapery lining and interlined with a flannel to prevent damage to fabric. Interlining instructions are not included.

*VIEW C: Choose a Contrast fabric to line trumpets.

*VIEW D: The swag is “railroaded”, meaning it is made from one length of fabric. One-way prints or large obvious prints are not suitable - see #4 for more information on print fabrics. All over prints are recommended.

SUGGESTED LINING:

VIEW A, B, or C*: Select a white or off-white drapery lining fabric. Sun resistant or water resistant linings are recommended.

*VIEW C: In addition to drapery lining, select a CONTRAST FABRIC to line trumpets.

VIEW D: Jiffy Pole Swag is self lined in FACE FABRIC since the lining shows in the folds of the treatment.

PURCHASE LINING SAME WIDTH AS FACE FABRIC, IF AVAILABLE.
