DESCRIPTION:
VIEW A - Arch Valance is fully lined and gathered onto a 2" or 2-1/2" (5 or 6.3cm) wide curtain rod. Decorative trim highlights the bottom edge. The finished length at the center of the valance is 15" (37.5cm) without trim and there are three choices for the side length - 24", 30" or 36" (60, 75 or 90cm). This treatment can be made for window widths 30" to 80" (75 to 200cm).
VIEW B or C - Petite or Grande Balloon Valance is fully lined and features a varying number of balloons depending upon window width. An optional piping strip can be added to the top edge. There are three balloons for window widths 3042" (75105cm); four balloons for window widths 4360" (107.5150cm); five balloons for window widths 6175" (152.5187.5cm) and six balloons for window widths 7690" (190225cm). Both views feature rings stitched to the back of the valance that are rigged with cording and pulled up to desired length. View B Petite can be adjusted to lengths between 15" and 24" (37.560cm) and View C Grande can be adjusted to lengths between 24" and 32" (6080cm). View C Grande also features optional buttons near the top edge. Valances are easily stapled to a 1" × 3" (2.5cm × 7.5cm) pine mounting board.
VIEW D - Gathered Balloon Valance is fully lined with drapery lining and includes optional instructions for adding flannel interlining. The treatment is gathered onto a 2" or 2-1/2" (5 or 6.3cm) wide curtain rod. Decorative trim highlights the bottom edge. Rings are stitched to the back of the valance and are tied with cording to a stationary length between 20" and 32" (5080cm). This treatment can be made for window widths 30" to 80" (75 to 200cm).
SUGGESTED FABRICS:
VIEWS A, B* or C*: Silk-like polyester fabrics, mid-weight decorator fabrics such as cottons, linens, cotton blends, jacquards, or other similar weaves work well. Lightweight blend fabrics can also be used. NOTE: Interlining instructions not included - silk fabrics are not recommended.
*VIEW B or C - Print Fabrics: Balloons are sometimes cut side by side so horizontal repeats over 16" (40cm) are not suitable. See #4 in How to Use Fabric Requirement Charts for more information on repeat.
VIEW D - Silk fabrics in addition to above fabrics. Optional interlining instructions are included for this View only to prevent sun damage to delicate silk fabrics.
SUGGESTED LINING:
ALL VIEWS: Select a white or off-white drapery lining fabric. Sun resistant or water resistant linings are recommended.
VIEW D: Optional Interlining fabric - select a 48", 54, or 60" wide mid-weight cotton flannel fabric.
PURCHASE LINING SAME WIDTH AS FACE FABRIC, IF AVAILABLE.
